Product Details
What products does Proximity Mills offer?
We offer:
-11 collections of waterproof SPC (Stone-Plastic Composite) LVP flooring
-3 collections of waterproof engineered hardwood
-3 collections of high-density engineered hardwood + bamboo
-48 collections of rectified porcelain tile
-22 collections of 6.6 nylon carpet
What’s the difference between SPC and WPC? Are they the same as LVP?
Good question!
SPC stands for Stone-Plastic Composite. These floors have a rigid core infused with limestone, which means they’re ultra-durable and great for high-traffic areas (think living rooms and hallways).
WPC stands for Wood-Plastic Composite. These floors have a rigid core infused with wood flour, which means they’re a bit more springy and great for cozier areas like bedrooms and bathrooms.
LVP stands for Luxury Vinyl Plank, which is an umbrella term that includes SPC and WPC. For more info on the best types of vinyl flooring, check out this article.
What is engineered wood, exactly?
Engineered wood is a high-performance type of real wood flooring that's composed of a solid wood veneer over a high-strength core.
This means that engineered wood has all the benefits of a wood floor—but since it's much more dimensionally stable, it can go where solid wood can't.
Are Proximity Mills floors water-resistant?
All of our LVP and porcelain tile products are 100% waterproof, pet-proof, and kid-friendly.
Additionally, our 3 collections of waterproof hardwood flooring offer total water resistance between 24 and 72 hours, depending on the product.
Are Proximity Mills floors scratch resistant?
Our SPC floors come with ceramic bead-infused wear layers between 12 and 22 mils thick, our hardwoods boast UV-cured acrylic finishes, and our rectified porcelain tile is engineered to possess an extremely high break strength.
Translation: our floors can stand up to anything you can throw at them. Except maybe knives. Don’t throw knives at our floors, please.
Where is Proximity Mills flooring made?
We source our flooring from top manufacturers around the globe. In fact, they’re the exact same manufacturers that make flooring for all of the top brands—just without the middlemen and markup!
What are Proximity Mill carpets made of?
Our carpets are made of 100% 6.6 nylon, the most resilient, durable fiber available.
What's the difference between Proximity Mills' high-density and waterproof wood products?
While our waterproof hardwood is designed to withstand spills, splashes, and everything in between, our high-density hardwood is designed to resist compressing or warping, even in the toughest environments.
What is Proximity Mills tile made of?
Proximity Mills tile is made of 100% rectified porcelain—meaning it's incredibly durable, entirely natural, and better for the environment than natural stone (plus, it can be made to look just like it!)

Other
I’ve heard LVP is bad for the environment. Is that true?
Some lower-quality LVP brands can emit VOCs, which can be hazardous to the environment and your health. Our floors, on the other hand, are made with 100% virgin plastic—meaning they’re low in VOCs. In fact, we only offer low-VOC and VOC-free options. And all of our floors can be recycled at the end of their lifespan.
I got Proximity Mills shipped to my house from a retailer, but it has a different name on the box. What happened?
This happens in rare cases, but we know it can be confusing. Since the start of COVID, shipping delays has taken a massive toll on the flooring industry as a whole—and it's been challenging for us to keep up with demand.
To make sure that we don't delay your flooring project, we sometimes use a box with our internal product names on it. You can always match up the SKU number and specs to the information on our product page to be assured it is the right product.
If you have any questions about your delivery, or want to double check in these cases, feel free to contact us!
Can I return the sample I ordered?
Samples cannot be returned. We appreciate your understanding.
Why don't you show pricing?
Although we love seeing our products in consumers' homes, we do not sell direct to consumer. We sell to select retailers and they set their own prices.
If you are interested in purchasing Proximity Mills, you can reach out to any of our retailers here. All of our retailers ship nationwide so if there is not a store near you, feel free to call the closest store.
